I thought these zippered pouches on the Purlbee were too cute and decided to whip one up for a niece's birthday. If I did another one it would be bigger so the zipper wouldn't be on a curve (way too fussy). I think it will do for a 5 year old, but it looks a bit lima bean-y to me.
